【摘要】:Thispracticeistobeusedasaguidetoclassifywaterbodiesforspillcontrolsystems.Theseclassificationsmaybeusedinformulatingstandardsfordesign,performance,evaluation,contingencyandresponseplanning,contingencyandresponseplanevaluation,andstandardpracticeforspillcontrolsystems.RelativelyfewparametersofbroadrangehavebeenusedinTable1inordertoenabletheusertoreadilyidentifygeneralconditionsunderwhichspillcontrolsystemscanbeused.SatisfactoryoperationofanyspecificspillcontrolsystemsmaynotextendoverthefullrangeofconditionsidentifiedbyTable1.Detaileddiscussionwithsystemssuppliersisrecommended.Effectiveoperationofoilspillcontrolequipmentdependsonmanyfactors,ofwhichtheprevailingenvironmentalconditionsarejustafew.Factorssuchas,butnotlimitedto,deploymenttechniques,leveloftraining,personnelperformance,andmechanicalreliabilitycanalsoaffectequipmentperformance.1.1Thispracticecreatesasystemofcategoriesthatclassifywaterbodiesrelatingtothecontrolofspillsofoilandothersubstancesthatfloatonorintoabodyofwater.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotaddressthecompatibilityofspillcontrolequipmentwithspillproducts.Itistheuser''sresponsibilitytoensurethatanyequipmentselectediscompatiblewithanticipatedproducts.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
